Hudson Elfs Out Campaign
Hudson Group will donate a toy to a child in a hospital over Christmas for every order placed throughout November.
There are few things worse than a child having to spend Christmas in a hospital, away from their loved ones, while feeling poorly.
That’s why Hudson Group is pledging to buy a toy for a young patient for every order placed in November.
Our Hudson Elfs Out campaign aims to spread a little cheer for children in hospitals in Ipswich and Colchester over Christmas.
The idea came from our Sales Operations Director Jo Day, after her young son, Newlyn, was hospitalised last December.
“He was only six years old,” explained Jo, “sadly he has had many hospital stays despite his young age and this particular one he worried that he would miss Santa because he wasn’t home.
“One of the nurses then told me how some kind people donated toys to the children’s wards each year, and these would be left at the end of the kids’ beds.
“As it turned out, we were so lucky that Newlyn was allowed home late evening, on Christmas Eve. But the plight of the other young patients touched all of the family.
“That’s why we’ve decided to buy a toy for every Hudson Group order throughout November. Ipswich Hospital have been absolutely amazing with my son over the years and we wanted to be able to help in a small way. We should have quite the collection by the end of the month, and we can’t wait to deliver them to Ipswich and Colchester. Newlyn has been tasked to deliver them himself to the elves at Ipswich Hospital!"
Hudson Group clients have always been generous and have supported good causes, so we know you’ll love getting involved.
You can order your products as normal—we promise to buy a toy for every order.
“There’s a lot of charity activity at this time of year, so it’s nice for our clients to know they are helping make a significant difference to a young child’s Christmas without paying anything on top of their order. We’ll pick up the cost of the toys,” said Jo.
Choosing gifts to buy
The Hudson team is looking forward to choosing the gifts to buy, and Newlyn will have many ideas to give us when shopping.
We’ll then deliver all the toys to the hospital staff, who will decide which suits each of their young patients best.
The East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust Associate Director of Charities and Voluntary Services, Mandy Jordan, will be the hospitals’ point of contact for our Hudson Elfs Out campaign.

Thanks very much, as always, for your incredible support.
