Hudson Group Donates Christmas Toys to Local Hospitals

What fantastic news to take into Christmas week!

Hudson Group is thrilled to reveal that we bought over 170 toys for children unfortunate to be hospitalised at this special time of year.

We launched our Hudson Elfs Out campaign last month, promising to buy a toy on the back of every sale we made throughout November.

Thanks to the orders rolling in, we purchased just over 170 toys and games. Most will go to the children at Ipswich and Colchester, while some will be kept in the hospitals’ play areas to be enjoyed all year.

A magical project!

The festive campaign was arranged by our Sales Operations Director Jo Day, whose young son Newlyn spent a lot of time in hospital in the lead-up to last Christmas.

Now aged seven and thankfully fit again, Newlyn enjoyed joining his mum on a special visit to the hospitals to present all the gifts ready for Christmas Day.

Jo said: “We’re so excited that we’ve been able to donate so many toys to children this Christmas.

“It’s been a magical project to be involved with, and we know the toys will bring some festive cheer.

“Newlyn loved helping us to pick out the toys and games – it was ideal having his expert opinion!”

Hudson Group often gets involved with charitable projects, but this one was particularly close to home.

“We thought Newlyn would be spending last Christmas in hospital,” Jo explained. “So, we understood how hard that is for children and their families. Luckily, Newlyn was allowed home on Christmas Eve, but from that moment, I knew we could do something to help others less fortunate.”

Hudson Group customers will be delighted to know that their November orders have helped such a good cause.

“Newlyn and I thank them all, and, of course, I am grateful to the Hudson Group management team for backing us 100% of the way.”

The Elfs Out campaign wrapped up another super year for Hudson Group. Like any other year, it had challenges, but we’re super proud of how our team has worked tirelessly to offer our usual high standards.
